Missing

Today I miss
(at least)
London,
old friends
and my 15-year-old self
(who didn't know
anything about depression yet).

Magical springlike feeling, at least in the pictures

{via Ruche}

It's raining wet, slushy snow outside and I know my shoes will be wet at the very moment I step out of the door. The spring seems to be ages away, and I couldn't miss it more. These pictures from Ruche Lookbook (spotted via Shimmer Like Gold) made me feel a little better. I love that spring scenery free of snow but not looking too green or flowery. Just like the first days of spring.

Hot, Hotter, Super Hot

Things I miss at the moment:
- winter
- hair conditioner
- ice cream
- (the) boyfriend
- shower

Read between the lines:
I've been at a summer cottage with my family for few days now. It's boiling hot, so I think about snowflakes and ice a lot. Our water pump is broken, so I've been washing my hair in a lake lately. And ice cream, well is there someone who doesn't miss ice cream all summer time?

Sometimes I have days like this

Not enough words to explain my feelings, at least not in English. I'm not sad, I think, just a bit melancholic. Mostly things I miss in my thoughts, have been longing a lot today.
For example...
Girls who were my best friends back in secondary school
Being young and naive and unlimited
Summers of my childhood and playing with my cousins
B/W photographing and having a proper film camera
Helsinki, especially the parks in autumn
Watching ferries from the kitchenette window
and those times that may have been hard, but so worth it
cause there always was something to live and something to die for
Times when things were more black and white and less grey all the time.

Dear so and so...

Dear London,
I miss you.
Why do you have to be that far away?

Dear teacher,
I've got problems concentrating today,
and I'm sorry for that.
Could you be nice and let us go already?

Dear PhotoShop CS3,
do you have to be that frickin' complicated?

Dear Sun,
Thanks for shining today.
You made me miss summer though.

Dear snow,
I'm fed up with you,
please melt away already.

Dear craving for sugar,
get out of my head.
Immediately!

Dear liquorice smell,
I have no idea where you are coming from,
but you smell nice,
so please don't leave our apartment.

Dear fellow bloggers,
please don't be offended if I stopped following you today.
I had over 90 blogs on my blog roll, and I had to let some of them go,
as I didn't have enought energy to read every single post anyway.
But don't worry, I'll still be visiting you.

Dear J,
thanks for cooking.
and thanks for letting me sit on the kitchen couch
and just watch while you do that.
It makes me happy.

Dear mom,
I'm sorry I'm so terrible with money
and have to call you again soon
and ask you pay my train tickets
so I can visit you on my holiday.

Dear pink colour,
please don't fade away
and leave my hair so quickly.
You make me happy every time I look at the mirror.

Dear readers,
thanks for following, commenting and just being there.
You make me happy and motivated,
and mean lot to me.
Pleace know you are appreciated
and that I regularly visit your blogs,
if you only have one.

Dear friends in London,
I've been thinking of you a lot lately
even though I haven't wrote that many letters.
Thanks for being so nice for me when I was there
and remembering me now when I'm gone.
I wish I can visit you soon.

Summer, I miss you!

I'm getting fed up with the winter.
I'm tired of all the cold and snow and freezing wind.
I don't wanna wear 5 layers of clothes every time I leave the house
and carry an extra cardigan in my bag just in case it's actually colder than I thought.
I'm bored cause it's dark when I wake up and dark when I come back home.
I can't remember when I last time saw the sun for more than a moment at a time.

I miss long, light days. I miss sunshine you can feel on your skin. I miss the smell of freshly mowed lawn and bright colors of the flowers. I miss eating ice cream outside and having picnics. I miss wearing summer dresses and going barefoot. I miss sneakers and skirts and strawberries. I miss taking pictures without having to use the flash to see what's in the pic.

The sad thing is it's the time of the year when the "real" snowy winter usually starts in here. But this year it came already in December, so by now I just wish it would go away already. If the winter doesn't leave soon, I may just have to hibernate the rest of it to survive.

Let's talk about weather

It's terribly cold outside.
Fortunately the rain has stopped (it was pouring in the morning)
but it's still very windy.
Every time I go outside, even for a short while,
the wing goes through my clothes to my skin, and then through my whole body.
I've been sitting inside in a warm office for two hours now, and am still shivering.

This kind of weather makes me wanna crawl back to my bed and stay undercover for the rest of the day. I also dream about a chunky knitted jumper or a cardigan, which would be so big and long I could pull it over my knees when I'm sitting. (The habit that always made my mum snap when I was a kid...) That way I could have my tea in our cold kitchen without freezing.

I also dream about marshmallows. I don't know why, maybe it has something to do with the cold as well.

Oh how I miss you.

A moody monday

Everything is all right,
but I'm just terribly homesick today.
Almost wish I could back my packs and leave already.
When my best friend yesterday walked through the gates at the tube station,
there was a tear in my eye.
I almost followed her, and asked her to stay so I wouldn't have to be alone again.
Cause it's always harder when you've been with someone close to you, even for a short while.
Luckily there wasn't any credit in my Oyster and I couldn't get through, so it saved her for embarrasment.

I miss not only my friends and family, but also my flat.
I miss hot water coming out of the kitchen tap without waiting
and I miss being able to bake cakes (and that pleased smile on my boyfriends face when he walks in and smells the cake.)
I miss our sofas (even the ugly one)
and especially our bed. I miss sleeping together with someone
and not having to wake up alone.
I miss being able to call my mum without having to think how much that costs
and I miss someone who could understand my own language.
I miss a proper pizza (please believe me, you should never eat a pizza in England)
and someone cooking for me.
I miss snow and minus degrees, stars seen from our balcony when having a smoke (or in my case, a lollipop). I miss standing on the roof and being able to see the whole city.
I miss going to my favourite cafés
and spending time with you.
I miss you.

I miss comments.
Is there anyone out there?
