My Style Alphabet

I was tagged by Miss Piparminttu to write down my personal style alphabet. The original challenge didn't say anything about pictures, but I chose to add them just because. All pictures by me, and most of them even somehow related ;)

I would like to see Amanda, Allie, Jemina, Anna and Norsis to do this. Anyone else can too, if they just want to. Feel free to use the language easiest for you and not to stress about the pics.

A is for Accessories.
Honestly, I'm an addict.

B is for Buttons.
Fancy ones are my favourite way to brighten up a dull cardigan.

C is for Colour.
Wearing a colourful outfit makes me feel happier.

D is for DIY.
Because I love any kind of crafting.

E is for Earrings.
I prefer big, fancy, quirky ones.

F is for frocks.
I love them.

G is for Glitter.
I secretly love it.

H is for Hem.
I prefer the knee-length.

I is for Imagination.
That endless source of style inspiration.

J is for Joy.
I believe style is supposed to be fun.

K is for Knitwear.
I wouldn't survive the winter without it.

L is for Layers.
Easy and stylish.

M is for Menswear.
I buy most of my jumpers and t-shirts from the mens department.

N is for Nail Polish.
An easy way to add color to any outfit.

O is for Over the Knee.
When I was in upper secondary school,
I wore mostly skirts with long,
colorful socks.
I wanna reinvent that style this fall.

P is for Pink.
My favourite hair colour ever.

Q is for Quirky.
If I had to explain my style in one word, this would be it.

R is for Rainbow.
The perfect colour combination.

S is for Stripes.
My favourite pattern.

T is for Tulle.
I wish I could wear a tutu in daily life.

U is for Used.
I buy most of my clothes second hand.

V is for Violet.
My latest colour crush.

W is for Wellies.
They're so practical in our climate.

X is for XL.
As it's my size, and I'm sick and tired of being ashamed of it.

Y is for Yellow.
One of the biggest style tragedies
of my life is that yellow doesn't look good on me.
Luckily I can still use it in accessories.

Z is for ZZZZ.
Sleeping well and enough makes anybody more beautiful.

Dreaming of...

...summer.

This isn't weird, this is extraordinary.

Yes, I dyed my hair again.
Being a redhead was fun, but
oh my, how I had missed bright, unusual colors.
I love the color so much, even though
it's a bit dark for me.
I guess I just have to welcome my inner goth
to daylight.

Can you see the difference?

When I moved into this apartment
(09/2008),
my jewelry wall looked like this:

Nowadays
(04/2010)
it looks like this.

And I desperately need a third
earring-hanger,
as almost 30 pairs of earrings
are missing from the picture just because
they didn't fit.

No, this is not a problem.
This is just happy collecting.

He said my legs look like barcodes

Today I'm celebrating spring with crazy tights, car earrings and color-coded nails.

First I tried to polish every nail with a different color, but in the end it didn't look that good. The darker shades didn't go together that well, so I ended up coloring my nails in both hands the same way. And I have to say I like it. Especially on a rainy and grey day like this.

I always have lollipops in my bag

If you are interested in what I usually carry around in my bag, head to Post Grad Hair Cut to see. I'm taking part to Samantha's In My Bag - series there. And I'd like to point out there's no broken teacups or tree trunks like the other day.

I took these pictures quite a while ago (those who go to school with me know that orange knitting project has been ready for ages), but it very well represents the normal ingredients of my bag. I also happened to wear the same clothes as I do today, so the hem of my green skirt can be seen in the pic 2 :)

Oh Summer Dress

{all pics via Halens}

I haven't bought any clothes since the beginning of January. Back then I realized I have too many clothes and no money, so I decided not to buy anything until 1st of May. And I've kept my promise. It's actually been surprisingly easy to avoid buying clothes. I've just radicallyignored anything clothes-related for the past months. Haven't stepped into stores. I've even removed all the catalogues I receive straight from the doormat to paper recycling. No looking, even no peeking, cause then I might want something I don't need. And if I wan't something bad enough, I can make a need for it.

But today, today I slipped. I opened one catalogue to read it in the toilet (yes, I read there. And I know you do too, so no need to look that surprised). And now I want want want things. Especially dresses. It's almost spring outside, so I do need a new summer dress, right? Oh, they had so many beautiful ones. I virtual shopped for a while and now I have stuff worth 90€ in my shopping cart. But I can't buy anything, cause then I couldn't trust my decisions anymore at all. I've failed every diet, sugar strike and beginning of new lifestyle this year, so I can't fail this. Not that I had any money, 90€ is a maximum I can spend for necessities during the next three weeks.

Oh May, please come soon! Before that I'll choose one dress I want the most to celebrate the summer. That's all I can afford, but that's still something. And I think I really deserve it.

Yes, I love sneakers

I also love feet/shoe shots.
So, let me introduce a couple of pairs
that have meant lot to me:

My first sneaker love <3
I used them until they broke during
a music festival one summer.
Well, I had to get home, so I just taped
them and continued my journey.
But soon after returning home I buried them
into our trash can.

The first (and so far the last)
patterned pair I've ever had.
This picture was taken
in a swing, that explains why it looks like that.

The first picture of my
totally black pair.
Those laces later on ended up on my
brother's sneakers (with the beads, of course).

And the last picture of my most
beloved pair, the red ones.
May they rest in piece,
on a dumbing place somewhere near London.

Eagerly waiting for making new memories
and taking new pictures
with my newest pair,
the one you saw on Saturday.
(Chosen and bought by my mum.)
Hey summer, we are waiting for you!

P.S.

Today I also had a presentation and to cheer my mates up I held it with my glasses on. Well, originally it was a fault of my project partner who lately bought awesome nerd/librarian glasses and was going to wear them at the presentation anyway. I just tried to fit, you see. And that's also why I color coded my nails and jewelry with the classes.

P.P.S. Hey mum, don't be ashamed, it wasn't such a serious presentation anyway.

Alice and Me

"Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

We went to see Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland yesterday, and I loved it. "Of course you did", my boyfriend said. "You love anything with a cat in it, especially a smiling one." It wasn't the only thing I liked though, but the Cheshire Cat might be my number one fairy tale character from now on. I loved the Mad Hatter too, and Alice and all the animals. I also loved how the Wonderland was created, and this was the first 3D movie that has been so well made I've really enjoyed the effects. The plot was a bit clumsy and complicated, I have to admit, but that didn't bother me too much.

Because of this special occasion I was dressed Alice-related. That meant a blue skirt, a necklace with a white rabbit and teacups dangling from my ears. Of course, Alice never wore a beanie, but she didn't have to, cause her hair was perfect even at the moment of the battle. Us living in normal world may have days when the beanie is necessity.

This ain't a fashion blog (and my tights were black) but here are some pictures just in case you're interested. The ones with me in them are taken by my best friend - thank you luv!

It's Matter of Life and Tights

I don't know if anyone remembers my colorful tight challenge anymore, the one I was talking about when I found out I have approximately 40 pairs of tights in 17 different colors. You know, wearing a pair in different color every time I leave the house in a skirt for the next two weeks or so. Well, I finally started doing it today. It's been too cold until today, but this morning I didn't freeze dead in my red tights, so it's high time to start already. I also have that black basic skirt I was dreaming of, so no more excuses.

It may be that you're gonna see some feet shots (with tights, of course) in the near future, so better to get prepared. The one in this post is an old one from last August, it's not that warm yet. And in the place the photo was taken isn't any dry asphalt at the moment - our whole backyard has turned into lake.
